Brian Lewrane

As Director of the voluntary-sector "Proteus Project in Bosnia & Hercegovina", I focus the work of our international team on the objective of protecting the European Cave Salamander Proteus anguinus in Bosnia & Hercegovina through the protection and conservation-management of its natural habitats. This 30-year project involves the characterisation of the complex karst conduit-aquifer ecosystems which it inhabits in addition to undertaking new research into the behaviours of Proteus.
